art deco sapphire & diamond ring
An art deco beauty, featuring an inky, blue sapphire at the centre, surrounded by a blanket of crisp sparkly diamonds. Another navette style ring, a favourite of the era. The main sapphire is rectangular cushion faceted measuring 5.5 mm x 4.8mm approx. The 4 small sapphires that flank the queen sapphire are synthetic and are slightly chipped, but not eye obvious. Using synthetic sapphires was a common occurrence in this era.
The 14 old european cut diamonds, weigh in at 0.32 carats with a colour grade of G- H, VSI, VS2, all set in platinum. The ring is currently sized at 5.5 and weighs 2.7 gms.
